Zoem Poets

On Friday, March 20, 2020, 6:00 PM, I texted my dear friend Cortney Collins. School had just closed, Covid-19 had begun it’s ravage of the country, and things seemed bleak. Cortney responded with telling me she was starting an online Zoom poetry open mic, in half an hour that very evening. Thus was born Zoem, a beautiful, unique, and sacred space of poets sharing their work and their lives in the time of corona virus.

Every Friday night since Covid-19 social distancing began, we gather over Zoom to read poetry, talk, support, and share a sacred artistic space. We choose a prompt for which participants write lines in the chat. What results are beautiful and unique works of collective poetry we call Zoetry. A wonderful blessing resulting from horrible circumstances.

Here are the contributing poets with links to their own works. Do yourself a favor and check out these talented artists!
