This poem is for #TankaTuesday, hosted by Colleen Chesebro of Word Craft – Prose & Poetry blog.
The challenge is a themed #tanka based on this lovely #haiku by Sue Vincent:
clouds cover the moon, beyond dawn's pale horizon sun rises unseen ©2020 Sue Vincent
My two tankas blend inspiration from Sue’s haiku with inspiration from this photo I took recently:

Windless day
at the edge of the earth
turning windmill
moon above the horizon
fields surround and envelope
Big sky wide earth
road leads to the unknown
past the windmill
keep going through the clouds
turn left at the moon
Keep moving

I like the almost surreal and fairytale feel to this 🙂

Anne, I loved your take on Sue’s Haiku. It does seem like you live at the edge of the world. Well done. ❤
